Sweet looking rifle. I'm building a custom Remington 700 .300 Winchester Short Magnum shortly. We can get into some long range shots out West. I had a 350 inch bull at 425 yards last year and I didn't want to shoot that long with my Winchester model 70 30.06. The bullet drop is close to 48 inches at that range and I had a 25 mile per hour cross wind and wasn't sure what the bullet drift would be.

i am a up close and personal guy.
i like to try and get as close to the animal as possible. great fun and gets the heart pumping.
don't get me wrong i do like the skill of getting the long shot right.
i have shot rutting red stags out to 380 with the 243 drop on the spot
