Scotland

Welcome and thanks for sharing the pictures! I love seeing pics and hearing hunting stories from "over the pond".

Alan,
Great way to kick off you arrival!! I lived in Suffolk on a farm which had muntjacs, roe and reds for a bit......unfortunately the landlord wouldn't allow hunting :( I am sure a bunch of us would love to hunt (especially reds) in Scotland ......maybe even drink some whiskey ;) Cheers and welcome!!

Welcome. Glad to have you. Really need to visit the homeland sometime. Look forward to some stories

i think some of you guys should get over to Scotland and do some hunting.
Great fun

Alan

Managed to make it to England last summer for a Roe buck, doubt the wife would let me do something else like that!

Welcome Alan! Looking forward to more stories and pics.
Going to Scotland is on my bucket list, but haven't made it yet. In doing family research it appears our family were of the Border Reiver type way, way back in the day. Grandfather was raised around Moffat and came to the States to raise sheep (or as hunters over here call them, range maggots).

thanks very much for all the warm welcome.
If anyone is wanting to hunt in Scotland or what info let me know and I can help you out. I have contacts for deer and bird shooting. and I'll meet you for a dram or 2

Alan

Welcome and great photos! Planning to hunt Scotland sometime in the next decade. Do you have any sika photos, would be interesting to see now they compare to New Zealand sika.

I'm not sure if you get National Geographic magazine on your side of the pond but the most recent edition featured an interesting article about the Scottish Highlands and competing philosophies about how they should be managed long-term. I'll see if it is online but it would be interesting to hear your take on it. Stunning country and a rich heritage.

Welcome aboard Alan. I have 42 cousins that live in Armadale Scotland and I plan on heading over there someday for a visit and maybe get in a hunt. In Texas we mainly hunt whitetail deer and wild hogs and I head up into the mountains of Colorado every year to hunt elk and mule deer on horse back. 12036818_10203719409146287_1178851803324051761_n[1].jpg14568092_10205897114227553_7036006217919514832_n.jpg14595591_10205897115547586_4321986473511611217_n.jpg14600929_10205897115027573_1517401957293075162_n.jpg10885414_10202307371446227_3188606715152470693_n.jpg10940536_10202463019817339_3763544690423240706_n.jpg
