I was thrilled to read about the friendly encounter of two father-and-son pairs and the other stories as well. It is very encouraging to hear that there are really good, selfless people out there. It is easy to be tainted by the few bad apples that seem to think hunting is a competitive sport.

I will share that my daughter was blessed with the gift of a landowner's tag this past year. The manager at Bord Gulch Ranch (an RFW property in CO) not only gave my daughter the tag at no cost (other than the $10 youth lic fee paid to CPW) but also spent nearly his whole day helping us get close enough to a cow to give my daughter a high percentage shot.

Anyone else have stories of good people you met through hunting?

Some of the RFWs are very dedicated to helping youth hunters get a great start. I took my nephew to Tenderfoot Outfitters for an RFW youth hunt near Craig several years ago, his experience was much like Engineer's daughter. Priceless memories.
