Hahahaha! Seriously though you guys are starting to peak my curiosity. Hearing really good things keep up the quality and I might have to bite the bullet in the future. I'm a savage guy, because I love to work on my own rifles plus I love accurate rifles and don't own a rifle that setup I have more then $800 in and I embarrass a lot of buddies with bigger checkbooks then I got.

Or buy Howa's so you dont have to work on them : )

I voted savage, and these groups are why.

Savage 12fv .204 ruger 39gr SBK 300yds

I have other guns that shoot just as good, but I spent $1100 on these three rifles combined. That $1100 includes upgrading the model 12s with laminate stocks.

Nothing against any of of the other manufacturers, they just can't compete with Savage's prices. This is a budget rifle thread after all. :)

Given the choices, i voted Ruger. I own 4 Savages(1 being a Stevens 200). One Rossi, and one Ruger.

I know Howa sponsors and all, but am not a fan of theirs. Especially for the money. Would actually buy anything except Howa, or the Weatherby Vangard.

I actully am looking at a Savage Axis as next rifle, tp put the E.R. Shaw barreel on. 250 Savage designated coyote gun.

I purchased a T/C Venture a few years ago and have been extremely impressed with it. I picked up the Ruger American at the same time and found the Venture superior in all regards. It is chambered in .338 Winchester Magnum and the groups with factory Hornady 200 gr SSTs were under 3/4 MOA at 100 yards. The rifles feature very nice triggers, 60 degree bolt throws, and 5R barrels. T/C was running a discount on them ($75) when I purchased and Cabela's gave me a father's day deal. I think in total I had $325 in it. Although accurate, I didn't like the polymer stock. I replaced that with a laminate from Boyd's and had the rifle glass bedded and free floated. The rifle now bears a Leupold VX2 3-9x40 with a German #4. To date, I believe I have taken six deer with it. Very happy!

Im curious as to your reasoning's behind this.

I can't really say given the question and the choices. Most of those companies make a wide variety of rifles at different price points. If I had to pick a particular company right now I would probably go with a Remington 700. If you're talking about only the entry level guns such as Axis, American, Rem 783, etc... I would probably go with either the Axis or American (but I really have no experience with either)

I don't know that there are bad choices included in this poll. I own savages, two 700's and a tc venture. Each of them performs well, I have to admit that my preferences are based upon caliber. My TC Venture in 7MM-08 is an accurate do all gun that functions flawlessly (1st choice) and my 300 wsm in 700 CDL is accurate and will put most anything down that I will ever hunt. Buy all of them.

I bought a Howa Mini and love the gun. That purchase was influenced by being a longtime lurker on the forum and an unbelievably low price for a new gun. I never really paid attention to Howa before but YouTube and the forum changed that. I'll be looking for a 6.5 Grendel or a 7.62x39 in the same gun if I can catch one on sale.

There are a lot of great deals on guns if you are patient and somewhat open to calibers, it's not out of line to see Ruger Hawkeye's for $399.00.
