For anyone who wants to pick up their hunter safety bonus point for Arizona, here's the ticket:

_____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

For any non-resident who has taken and passed Hunter Education in another state since 1980, we will be holding the last class for 2017 on April 8, 2017 here in Kingman.

You must register on the AZGFD website and you must fax or email a LEGIBLE copy of your card from another state in order to take this class.

Note this is an advanced class; not one for first time or inexperienced hunters!

Anyone under 14 must have permission in order to take this class.

To sign up online, go the Arizona Game & Fish Website and look under Hunter Education.

Then look under classroom classes for the date, April 8.

You will see the class offered at the 7 Mile Hill Range in Golden Valley.

Here is where you sign up. You must be on the roster in order to take the class. No walks in allowed for this one!

There is also a phone number for a local motel that you can call to make reservations at that is very reasonable and clean. Talk to Bernice. Her number is on the sign up information. Hunter Ed participants get a small discount on the rooms and it is right off the freeway so easy access to the range.

If you have any questions, please give me a call at 928-303-9481.

Note class will start at 7 a.m. (Arizona time) and will end somewhere between 5-6 p.m.

If you take and pass this class, you will earn the Arizona permanent bonus point.

Class is going to be limited to 40, so sign up soon if you want in this last class we will be doing in 2017!

I've been drooling over this class but plane tickets are just too high to justify it!

Thanks much for the info. I'm planning to take this class sometime in the near future. Is it just offered in April or is it offered at other times of the year as well?

It's usually offered in early January as well.

I took it in January. I've been checking it religiously over the past few years for open seats and I finally got lucky and found an opening this year.

Thank you for posting this. So in order to obtain the Bonus point, can a Non Resident do the online portion of the course and then just show up for the field day?

You do need to have a hunter safety card from your home state; this is the final hoop to jump through ...

Would love to try and get out there for this. Looks like its closer to Vegas than Phoenix, would that be the best place to fly in?

Vegas for sure. With the new bridge that by-passes Hoover Dam it's only a 1 1/2 hour drive there tops. Be sure to check out the Coffee Cup Cafe in Boulder City, They have some great food, especially the pork chili verde omelet.

Super! Thanks. I'm all signed up. Just gotta get out of work that weekend. And talk the wife into letting me go. I can see it now..."You wanna do What?!?"

Can't do it. I was already in AZ last September chasing Elk and tried way in advance to schedule a day of taking the class since I was coming from Oklahoma and going to be out there anyway. The AZ game and fish didn't seem to interested in helping me plan the class so I missed out. Not driving all the way back out there for it now.

I took this class in January 2008 and would recommend it to any HT members serious about obtaining a permanent preference point for all species in AZ. The class was informative, very well run and just a short drive from Las Vegas to Kingman, AZ.

Take the wife with you.
Best $1,000 I spent. I drew unit 1 with that point.

I must have seen you there. I took Jan 2008 close as well...

I must have seen you there. I took Jan 2008 class as well...and promptly drew a killer elk tag a few weeks later.

Airfare dropped a lot a few weeks ago so I booked my flight and signed up for the course. It's been nagging me that I haven't had that point. I look forward to not needing to worry about it anymore.

AN FYI:

Don just posted this yesterday on another site ...

Just wanted to let everyone know that this is a last call for sign ups for the Supplemental Hunter Ed class that will be held in Kingman on April 8.

Take and pass this class and you'll get a PERMANENT BONUS POINT for ALL of Arizona's big game animals, with the point guaranteed to be there for the upcoming SHEEP and MULE DEER draws!

The class will be held on Saturday, April 8 at the Mohave Sportsman Club's 7 Mile Hill Range near Kingman. Time will be from 7 a.m. till approximately 6 p.m.

The main requirement to take this class is that YOU MUST HAVE TAKEN HUNTER EDUCATION IN ANOTHER STATE AFTER 1980!

PLUS this is an advanced class for those who are experienced and have hunted a lot. No one under 14 years old can take this class unless they have special permission from the chief instructor--which is me!

Parents, you'll need to call me if you have a child under 14 years old that you want to bring along and take the class.

I have also made arrangements with a local motel here in Kingman for a discount for those who attend this class.

Remember, this is the last NR Supplemental class the Kingman team will be doing in 2017. Class is limited to 40 and its on a first come, first serve basis.

You must sign up for this class through the Arizona Game & Department website.

Go to the G&F website Home Page and scroll down to Hunter Education.

Then look for the class that is listed for April 8 in Kingman, sign up and send me your hunter ed card. Also print out the consent and waiver form and bring it to class.

Come earn this very important point and learn information about Arizona's unique draw and some regulations I bet you don't know about!

If you have any questions, call me at 928-303-9481 or by email at [email protected]

Remember time is running out for this year!

Signed up. Depends on when I have to go get the family as if I make it. Anybody attending from CO and want to carpool? Just figured I would check.
