Looking at the vortex viper HD, and can get a military/first responder discount. What would the comprible mode be for Leupold? Want to check them both, as I think leupold has the same discount program.

I took advantage of the same program when I got my Viper HDs. I looked through every comparable option in that price range. The guy at the local Cabelas let me take the Leupolds, Vortex, and Zeiss Terra's outside and look through each of them for about 30mins. I chose the Vipers over all of them.

I too picked the Viper HD's and and don't regret it a bit.
