Rep White's HJ 9 Release Wilderness Study Areas

Good luck Ben and Rob. I appreciate you guys being a voice for us on this matter.

I'm not testifying today. We should have a good line up of real people, so the lobbyists will likely sit this one out and work the halls (insert joke about the world's oldest profession here).

Go Rob!

As I listen to this hearing, sparing my comments berating the logistics of the structure and scheduling, I have this thought....
If subject matters experts like John Mumma, and the witnesses who have been involved with this issue since inception in the 70's, are ignored or under valued while Kerry White, his chronies, and the throngs who voted them in are validated (with the passing of HJ9)...............................................................
I really appreciate those who are there....... somewhere around 45 folks came from all around the state to testify in opposition.
Some representing organizations and commerce. Good to hear Backcountry Horsemen's Association represented.
Really appreciated hearing Sponsor Whites alternative facts being outted.

Real nice that people drive clear to Helena to testify and then get short-changed.

What a frickin' joke.

I vividly remember the bullchit that went down in the mid-late eighties that led to the politics dooming bipartisan legislation which would have made this crap unnecessary. Another Republican boondoggle - now being re-addressed by a GOP clueless goon who is either oblivious to history or ignores it.

While I appreciate Mr. Flynn's graciousness in asking the opposing crowd a question - it was painfully obvious that he really doesn't get it. Apparently the audience answered him quite directly....

Agree with everything in your post...

Kerry White just stated all he wants is congress to do is make a decision either way. Wilderness or not.

What would one suppose his reaction would be if the decision was "It Will Become Designated Wilderness"? Just wondering.....

Was heartwarming to hear a dedicated bunch of libtards show up for what they believe in. As I've stated before, there exists an us and a them - like it or not. Grateful for those of "us" that were there.....(RobG)........

By the way, Rob, did you ask White to go for a hike on the Crest with ya???

This is a good time to push hard on the committee and tell them to oppose HJ9. They'll take action soon, so don't waste any time.

Yeah, give them a call. They are more effective than emails I'm told. Committee members mentioned they are getting a lot of correspondence. If the ratio of calls they get is anything like what was in that room voting for it will be indefensible. But they probably will anyway. At least we'll be able to expose the so called "support" as a hoax.

I didn't drive all that way just to give my name and say I oppose it so I sat down by the mike and jumped up and probably talked too long like a butt hurt hippie. Oh well, hope I at least gave the impression that some of us care.

Citizen's for Balanced Use is Kerry White's so-called motorized advocacy group. I say so-called since they seem to be a front for the folks who want to open up roadless areas for extraction industries. Anyway, look at the lie they put on their Facebook page Monday:

Drawing1.png

They also listed the phone numbers of the people they claimed were inciting violence. After word got out they took it down last night or this morning.

The only thing remotely close to a threat was by a proponent who started in on the "obstructionists" etc before being silenced by the vice-chair. On the other hand, the opponents to Kerry White's bill were very respectful.

According to a report on Yellowstone Public Radio (of course a left wing fake news outlet:rolleyes:), only one of the five people listed in CFBU's FB lie actually attended the hearing. A John Todd, who attended the hearing with his seven year old daughter. He stated the hearing ran so late that he had to get his daughter home before he had a chance to testify. If true, this means none of the people listed as offenders were even present while Mr. White was being "safely" escorted from the halls of the capitol....... This is the crap that the folks who voted for White want.

Apparently Montana has it's own version of "Jason Chaffetz - biggest coward in DC"............

Frick'n thing made it out of committee 9 to 6. Call your reps as it may be voted on as soon as tomorrow.

Citizen's for Balanced Use is Kerry White's so-called motorized advocacy group.
CBU began as an effective advocacy group for snowmobile users and helped develop good trails in western Montana. However, as the group evolved under Kerry White's ideology, it morphed into Citizens for Balanced Abuse, as it seems to advocate for developed roads into every special wild area of Montana under the guise of access for the disabled, frail, or elderly citizens. Somehow the rationale for HJ 9 fits into the scheme for this "access" agenda.
Reach out to the Montana House to defeat this proposed resolution, which truly misrepresents the attitudes of most Montanans toward these special wild Montana Wilderness Study Areas. IMO, it's another bad idea and waste of this legislature's time and resources.
