Article was very well done. You can tell you have ample hunting experience both in the East and the West. You point out the geographic and topographic differences in East vs West hunting conditions. Public land Eastern Whitetails really know how to use cover and topographic features to survive the hunting season pressure. I really enjoyed this article because you tell the story without adding in a bunch of BS. Other writers are more worried about publishing general articles rather than enjoying and passing along the true hunting adventure.

This is pretty much spot on or at least how I would explain it to be. Thanks for being an advocate for us public land users in the east.

Nicely written article! I do not know the rules in TN, but in Indiana, the only way to pack a deer out like that, legally, is to check it in first. Now that they have an online option, this is possible where one can get sufficient cell service. Just some FWIW...
