It's the last weekend for doves and quail in South Texas, which means it's also the last time rabbits can be taken on most public hunting areas. I shot this pair earlier today at the James Daughtrey WMA outside of Three Rivers, using an ancient Stevens pump in .410 that belonged to my wife's great-uncle. The rabbits will go into my next pot of jambalaya.
