Hey Everybody,

I'm new to the HuntTalk forum and I am really enjoying reading about everyone's hunting adventures. My favorite hunting is chasing longbeards in the spring. Just curious, has anyone on the forum ever hunted the Loess Hills SF in Iowa and Pere Marquette SP in Illinois? I have several grand slams under my belt, but I'm trying to find some better places to chase Easterns. It is getting harder and harder to find ground here in my home state of Alabama.

Thanks in advance,

Josh

Much of the state land in Illinois requires a special permit that is limited draw. Frankly, Pere Marquette isn't that far from the Shawnee NF and the Shawnee has a lot more ground, and there is bound to be less St. Louis area folks stomping around there.

If you ever want to drive to MI. We have a ton of birds these days. I'm sure it cost a lot for an out of state tag though.
