The muzzleloader season is just for whitetails in ND so the odds of seeing a hunter in the badlands would be extremely small. The mule deer population have been rebounding well here also, but well have to see what this winter will do to the population as it as been extremely tough through the mule deer range lots of snow and cold.

We were kicking around going in early November...as close to rifle season as possible. Better chance of hitting the rut as well. Don't think we'll do a December hunt.

I have been out in the badlands the last two years in a row mule deer numbers were looking pretty good from the drop off they had. Not sure what this winter will do if we do not get much more snow they should be alright but hard to tell. Lots of good public land. We hunted both private and public and seen good bucks. Ended up getting ours on public land.
