Have an old cabala's meat grinder that i only used on one deer many years ago, so do not know what i am doing wrong. i tried 3 different cutting blades on both sides and it still won't cut up the elk.

Is it hand crank or electric? Is the auger turning? Is the end screw ring turned down tight? The cutting blade (looks like a 4 pointed star and is flat on one side) goes flat side out up against the grinding plate with the holes in it. Mine works just like the day I first bought it.

Thanks Dave, Tough getting old. The blade was not in the box so forgot about it and was thinking the plates did the cutting. Now all i have to do is find the blade.
