This year I am shooting 90 grains of Black Horn 209 with 245 grain powerbelt bullets .Shooting a CVA Optima V2 topped with a Nikon 3-9x40. I never hunted with that light of Powerbelt but going to give them a try .

295 grain copper plated hollow points did wonders on me and my wife's antelope does. You might get a little more speed out of the lighter ones, which might give you a bit more expansion. I think you'll be fine. Good luck!!

To paraphrase the movie "Field of Dreams....

"If you hit it... It WILL fall"

So, yeah a 44 Mag, in essence, will do just fine on a whitetail within range.

I've used 90gr of FFG under a 300gr Hornady SST with great success. Nothing I shot went more than 20 yds, 4 deer shot all at approximately 120-130 yds and two elk, one up close at 20 yds and the other at 90. So yeah, I think you'll be just fine.
