Every July for the passed 14 or so years we hit the high country for a 4 day ride. We take anybody with horse's
that wants to come along and have a handful of regulars and a bridge mix of others that show up. It's a full days
ride in to base camp and getting set up. The next 2 days rides are based on the experience level of the group with
the shape of their horses. Good group of 16 in the Posse this year only one rookie
so we did 14 mile ride in, 16.5 mile high valley ride, 20 mile long valley ride and 14 mile ride out.

That looks great. Were are your pack animals? What sort of base camp did you ride into without them?
thanks for sharing.

We quad back the 14 miles with everybody's supplies the weekend before, tent's sleeping bags and such. Our horse camp is just beyond a locked gate
where motorized is shut out. On the day of the ride we quad in the food and libations of choice. Trailing in 2 horse's for the haul crew. We ride mostly river trails in and occasionally have to cross the old quad trail where the haul crew puts up a pot of cowboy coffee and snacks. ( we are somewhat spoiled ).
