I saw a few nice rams in an unlimited unit 2 weeks ago. Hopefully someone gets one of them. Made me want to trade in my Mountain Goat tag for a Sheep tag.

I bumped into the outfitter in 300 over the weekend. they were still looking. I did see a fair number of sheep but nothing I could determine to be legal. I was scouting for goats. Good Luck to all that are giving it a go.
Rat Fink did you fill your Goat permit? it sounds like there may be a story? I am only scouting for my permit for a couple more weeks but will try and post some pictures up.

Packed in Sunday in almost 90 degree heat. Scouted Monday and it was nice. Opening day rain, snow and fog moved in. Guess that's hunting the Unlimited. At least I know where the sheep aren't.

Very scenic country. An abundance of rock with very little grass.

    That is some awesome country!

BHR, are you going to get back in there later in the season?

Planning on heading in on Monday if the quota isn't full. I missed opening week rolling the dice that the quota wouldn't fill. I had to wait till Theat quits playing around in Alaska so he can be my sherpa!

Almost back in the homeland...made it to Calgary tonight after 14 hours on the road today. Keeping my fingers crossed that those rams stay hidden for a couple more days

Just got back from a wet and foggy trip. Managed to turn up three young rams but nothing legal.

Hello all. I'm new here (to posting, not reading) I've followed the Unlimited threads for sometime now, and have a tag in one of them.
I went in for 5 days prior to and at the beginning of the season. Got cut a little short by the weather. It was incredibly socked in and remained that way for quite some time. We did manage to see two sub-legal rams. Best of luck to everybody trying it.
Here's two pictures (not sure I know how to upload them properly) taken exactly 5 days apart in nearly the same location.
Btw...quota update says 1 ram harvested in Unit 500, as of this morning.

We had a ram that was too close to call. Like 1/2" either way, and broke on one side. We passed him at 60 yards. Never saw another in 3 days that was close. My buddy is in another unit now, but we did leave with a goat, being I had both tags this year.

Another first time poster who's been following the unlimited threads for awhile. Here's a few shots from 500. Saw one sub legal ram, hopefully back at it this weekend if the quota doesn't fill.

Nice to see so many guys taking advantage of this unique hunting opportunity. Got a meeting in Bozeman tomorrow, and then while over that way, plan on giving it another go.

I did get about an hour of spotting scope time before the fog moved back in.

Didn't see any sign of sheep, but did cut some fresh bear and wolverine track, as well as deer, elk, and a lot of blue grouse
