Well, here goes...............
This bird was a 16-18 month old gobbler. His spurs were prox 1/2-5/8", he weighed 16-17#, he infact had a double beard that should have been about 4-6" long but was only about 3/4". Sometimes they break off fighting, I'm not sure what led to his shortened state.
He had a nice full fan that's drying in my shop. The shot was 45 yards, 2 "golden BB's" found their mark in his head. Last day, last hour for my 3rd Idaho tom of 2002. I took a knee.
