Looking to hunt area 4 this year, looking at OnX, google Earth, and talked with some Game Wardens. Basically told to prepare ourselves for a ton hunters. Just wondering about some advice, maybe some techniques - we are not experienced elk hunters. But are not afraid to hike and get of the roads. Thanks

Got back from Colo. yesterday. we had the time you would probably expect 3 greenhorns to western hunting to have on a DIY OTC hunt. We didn't hear calling, didn't see Elk. We did find poop and tracks so we hunted that. Had a great time though, the rockies is amazing. Got our asses kicked climbing the mountains.
Again thanks for your advise on everything, it eliminated a little of the stress to planning -
