New To The Hunt

So, as the title says. I'm just starting to dip my toes into the hunting scene. I've always really wanted to hunt but my father never taught me how. Now that I'm a father I want to teach my son how to hunt. And well I've got to teach myself or have somebody else teach me how to hunt.

Now that's what I've got to do. I've got to figure out a way to figure out how hunting works, all the rules and regulations and everything that goes with this responsibility.

But I have a passion and I'm going to stick with it. Mainly because I want to have something to teach my son. And hunting is probably one of the best things I can think of. With hunting there comes an understanding of of life and death. There comes an understanding of hardship. They're also is a teachable moment where either you take the shot because you know you can kill that animal without the animal suffering. Or pass up on that shot because it's unethical and you don't have that confidence being able to kill this animal in a respectful and proper manner. And was that specific teachable moment can relate to making choices in life. Do you do something because you know you can or do you not because it's not the right thing to do.

There are many many other things that can be taught through hunting. Maybe life lessons, or maybe survival techniques, or even something I haven't thought of yet. Maybe my son will teach me something while we're out hunting. I just want to bond with my kid. And at the same time provide a good solid foundation for my son to understand how the world works.
