  1. New To The Hunt

    So, as the title says. I'm just starting to dip my toes into the hunting scene. I've always really wanted to hunt but my father never taught me how. Now that I'm a father I want to teach my son how to hunt. And well I've got to teach myself or have somebody else teach me how to hunt.

    Now that's what I've got to do. I've got to figure out a way to figure out how hunting works, all the rules and regulations and everything that goes with this responsibility.

  2. Waisting time with Garmin

    What a freakin waist. My last GPS fell out of my pack during spring bear. I decided to upgrade with the Garmin Montana 610t. It comes with roads, but no topo. BUT, they offer a free 1 year subscription to download topo maps off of their data base.
    I received the gps on Wednesday and put off dealing with it until last night. Should be a cake walk... BULLSHIT! Was up until 10 just trying to get my computer set up and finally gave up on downloading the maps to the gps. I woke up late ...

  4. Motivation

    This is the year for meat. No more messing around. I've put in quite a few years now in the Coastal mountains trying to put down an elk or a deer without bait. I did get a deer a few years ago, but should be laying out one or the other every year minimum. This year I put in for rifle tags in places I can glass. No more sitting in some dense jungle and hoping.
    I'm going to put 10 days into Eagle Cap during the rut. I bought a general rifle tag for deer in Oregon too. Already have several ...
