I really enjoyed this week's podcast with Janis. What really made me smile was Finns story about standing at his father's side waiting to get his hands on some dear heart. I would guess this was back in the nineteen sixties. in the early 1990s when I was just coming of age as a hunter, one of my earliest memories of the deer hunting camp culture was standing next to my grandfather who always cooked up our deer hearts fried in butter in an old electric skillet at our deer camp which was nothing more than a decrepit old mobile home parked on a Minnesota swamp Marsh. Grandpa finally quit hunting last year but he still Cooks heart for us at the end of every deer season.
