I have tanned hide from a bull elk I shot a few years ago. I have a few questions about it.
First the hide has a pretty stong "tannery" smell. I thought it might go away after a while but its still there. Is there a way I can get rid of the smell or deminish it?
Second question is how should I store it?
Last question is what can I do to maintain it? Is there some kind of oil or preservative I can put on the leather to keep it supple?
