I just bought this savage model 99 in 250 3000 sav cal and i am thinking of trying it on deer this season ,i did not know ammo was this hard to find for it i might be better off to just sell the rifle and hunt with my old trusty 300 sav cal that i have plenty of ammo for.

250 - 3000 Savage is a great rifle!. We have one in our family. My grandfather, father and brother all killed their first deer with it. I have killed a couple antelope and deer with it as well. We don't seem to have a problem finding ammo for it, but it is spendy.

That is about 30-40% cheaper than I've been able to find recently. Definitely worth it if I buy more that two boxes to help save on S&H. I've been paying about $35-40/box. Thanks for the link.
Does anyone have any experience with Bitteroot Valley Ammo?
