Im looking for a light weight tripod strong enough for my 80mm hd swarovski.

I went overboard and bought a manfrotto 055cx4pro...YIKES...pretty unreal though! For the record it was Mark Seacats idea!

I have a Culman for my 65mm swarovski, not sure how much heavier the 80mm is but it balances the 65mm well and is fairly lightweight and not super expensive. I am sure there are better ones, but for something that I can thrown in the the pack they arent bad at all. I use a different heavier tripod when I am closer to the truck.

I used one set up for everything. A full sized carbon
Swarovski tripod (with qr legs) & I threw the plastic head that
came with it in the bin & screwed a manfrotto 128 rc,
(quick release) head onto it. Adds a touch of weight to
stabilize when glassing, but it is never too heavy to go
on a long distance backpack hunt with me.
Plenty of lightweight tripods out there, but getting the right
fluid head is very important.

I use an ultra light and compact velbon contrary to all sage advice when packing the swAro on my back. Shaky in the wind but otherwise fine.

I use a SLick tripod. one of the best I have found. Fits perfect with 80mm spotter attached in my MR Crew Cab which is a huge bonus.
