Light Weight Shelters

Those look nice though after seeing CSutton7's tent, if I was to go for a light packable tent - I would go for one of these...

Camp stove and shelter... I thought the tent I was sharing in that thread was good though after seeing that one... wow! - for the weight!
 
Oak - thanks for the links. Tried a bivy the other day - that is not going to work thought I was going to die. Think I need a lw tent with floor.
 
Trying to keep it under $300 and 3lbs - need a 0 to 15 degree bag, figure that will be $300 and a Mystery Ranch Pack figure that at $400 - so what is a $1,000 among friends. Found a Shangri La 5 on sale for $270 including the floor - kinda leaning in that direction but it comes in at 4.5lb if I figured it correctly.
 
I just got the Big Agnes Fly Creek. I just couldn't get over how light weight and well made they are. They aren't the cheapest out there but I don't think you'll find much lighter that isn't just a shelter without a floor. Can't wait to load it up on a sheep hunt this fall. The company seems a lot like MR. Down to earth folks that use and abuse their equipment and are always looking for better ways to do things. I got the mine on ebay for $310. The 1 and 2 mans have been under 300 consistently.
 
Just checked ebay again and there is a 1 man Big Agnes Fly Creek with a buy it now price of 204 or something like that. That tent comes in at only 2lbs 3ozs. That's a good price for that tent.
 
You convinced me - but I need the 2 man - at 6'1 220 and bit closter phobic plus my son may come along. Found it with the foot print for about 3. Thanks for the suggestion. Will order it today.

Kenetrek is gonna carry a tent that fits 2 people at 2.2 pounds. Can't buy it anywhere else in the U.S. currently. It will definately be something to look, and thats what I'm waiting for...Just FYI
