Does anyone use a camera adapter for their spotting scope? If so, what quality of pics do they take?

I bought the 2 piece one from Vortex (MK-1) and it was a piece of crap.
My camera moved less when I held it up to the spotter by hand. After some modification, the adapter now will hold the camera pretty steady. I never did find a good one and quit looking.
