Ok I'm looking for a long range hunting round that is chambered in a t/c barrel. I'm thinking either a 300 win mag or a 338 federal. it will be used mainly on deer and hopefully on elk.I already have a 7mm rem mag, should i look for a new caliber or just get a better long range scope for what I have?

I have a pro hunter 300 win, and i cannot get it to shoot like i think it should. tried all kinds of diffrent ammo from 180 all way down to 150 so be cautious.

I like the idea of the 338. If you already have the 7 Mag, then the 338 would be a good balance.
