Brutal, with several scenes depicting the genocide of hundreds of innocent, unarmed civilians.
I liked it. DiCapprio is a good actor when he wants to be. He plays a gun runner/diamond smuggler who struggles with his conscience, against the background of civil war in Sierra Leon, and the mining of diamonds to support the war. Plenty of guilt to go around for both the white western world who buy the diamonds, and the black Africans who commit the atrocities upon their own.
