I have a question I hope someone can help me with.In most African countries .375 caliber is the legal minimum with which you can take Cape buffalo.My question is the following.Is the legal minimum based purely on caliber?If so,am I to believe that rounds such as the 38-55 winchaster[an extreme example],the 444 marlin,45/70 government,and other such slow low-power rounds are legal for Cape buffalo;while rounds such as the 340 weatherby,the 338 RUM and many other very powerful rounds,below the .375 minimum,are not legal.I hope this is not the case.In my opinion,the legal minimun should be based on foot pounds of energy and bullet weight,not simply the caliber.
