Anybody out there pick these little gems? I absolutely love them, but they won't pop out here for a couple more months. Had a good amount of snow this winter and hope for a rainy spring, then there should be more than last year. When I get them home I wash them up and then dehydrate them, and they will last forever in a Ziploc bag, but I always save some to fry up right then and there. Little bit of butter and some sliced onion and fry them up. Another way I like them is in Wild Rice hotdishes, they seem to bring more flavor out of the rice.

Having taken mycology last year, all I've got to say is be very very careful people. A lot of mushrooms look virtually identical. I know this because one of my assignments was to collect and identify about 30 different genus. You do NOT want to eat the wrong one, unless of course dialysis is your idea of fun.
