Anyone seen this series yet? Have about 3 volumes to watch over the weekend and am missing volume 1. Are the episodes chronological?

thanks for the reply, am up to vol. 4...last episode, mister wu...awesome dialoge...excellent period reenactment...a late 19th century sopranos/civic lesson

season 2 premiered sunday night and it rocked.

Bullock tags the widow Garrett then Al and Bullock duke it out and end up in the street. Al is about to stab Bullock when the coach carrying Bullock's wife and son pulls up. Al locks eyes with the boy and pauses and Bullock lives to see another episode.

The most epic TV series ever IMO. I have had to walk every episode 3-4 just to get all that happens. Everything seems to have a purpose. I think I have seen the first season finale 7-8 times. I am totally addicted.

"It was the sight of that child that un-manned me." Swearingen had a soft spot for the minister too.

How funny was it that the only line Jane had was shouting "c**ksuckers" at the stagecoach loaded with new whores on Sunday??!!

I was amazed that the writer improvised the dialogue for the episodes. I accidently rented disc 6 which only has about 20 minutes of 'how we made the movie' stuff. Everyone on the set from the cinematographers to the costume designers have this period piece nailed. McShane should get an academy award even if it is HBO...probably best character portrayel I've ever seen. Have a friend who is supposed to be recording new season for me...if he lets me down I'm not taking him on his first elk hunt..ha.

....and the actress who plays Calamity Jane is a babe.

McShane got the Golden Globe

Jane? Maybe in real life but not in that get up, unless you're into sloppy drunk, foul-mouthed butch chicks

I like EB too...he's a perfect sweaty little weasel

they are all good...and yes 'real life' jane is hot not the 'bullwhacker jane'....tricky how they introduce redeeming values into even the evil characters.

Curious to see how the Comstock specialist shakes out...what a wierd duck. Hard to follow some of the whispered dialogue but overall the wordsmithing is amazing. I'm straining just to translate fast enough to follow the plot.

I seldom watch series, but I've become hooked on this one...

I love the realism... Did you notice that the proper and feminine widow Garrett has hair in her armpits...??.. How's THAT for authenticity to the time period..??..

The firearms are proper too, right down to the fact that while cartridge firearms were common by that time, Wild Bill Hickok still preferred his cap&ball colts....

I also have to watch most episodes more than once to avoid missing some details...It helps to read the episode reports on the HBO website...They have cleared up a few things for me...
