View Full Version : AZ Javelina Hunt

07-02-2002, 03:34 PM
Well, I thought about it and decided to post for interest in it, even though its still a ways away for the draw. How many of you would be interested in putting in for Javelina, the same area(s) together and having a group hunt?? I for one would enjoy it, since I've never gone after them before and would like some experience along with me. And also it might get some guys from nearby to come on down to the heat with us for a weekend or something. So heres the what I need to know.

1. Who would like to do it.

2. What areas should we put in for?

Ok, wide open for suggestions/comments.

Okay count me in, sounds like a hoot.
I have a heck of a lot of camping stuff. 20x20 tarp set-up, flood lights, you name it, well almost.

I think areas: 22, 23, or 18B have good numbers. But if the weather blows in then the clay roads up in 18B can be hard to get through.

I am in for it.. but I am taking my daughter, since we should be able to get drawn for it....

we hunt 31 32 and 33...

I dont care what unit though

I dont think one person would mind in the least that you took your daughter. I cant wait until my son is old enough to go. He will be my constant huntin' buddy as long as he wants too.

Ok...so far the following areas 18b,22,23,31,32,33 any other suggestions?? I dont care where personally!! I just want to get as many of us together as possible!!

What if you're from out of state???? I'd be interested if I am free when the season is in.

the more the better.. we can put in 4 people per application....

if all the applications have the same hunt numbers on it more than likely we will all draw, well except the people that go on the same app. as me...

Probally a "Deliverance reunion"

07-06-2002, 09:12 PM
No, Delw, if it was a deliverence thing, they would definately be planning a trip down!! :D :D With tinkerbells on!!

07-06-2002, 09:24 PM
Ok, just a quick recap of who/where!!

1. Me the LipRipper(of course)!!
2. Delw
3. Mntman
4. Azhunter
5. JohnSwa
6. 2fastnaz
7. 1-Pointer(maybe)

Areas: We need to decide on these. Since Delw has hunted 31,32,33 I say we put in for these since he has experience and some knowledge of the areas. Also, we should get as many people on an app. as possible. (4 per app being the limit.)

Of course, there is always room for more people. :D Suggestions??

any unit is fine..
ALso my daughter is going with me cause she loves to hunt...... we put in together for pig hunts(as long as no one minds)

we have to get amberjack to go also. and a few others....

07-06-2002, 09:39 PM
we are doing a rifle hunt or archery or what?

I assumed rifle, but archery or the HAM season is fine with me as well.....

if its archery then we have a whole month, and it will be nice and cool out, heck maybe even snow, plus deer seasons is going good and the bucks are in rutt(couse deer)...

07-06-2002, 09:51 PM
Hmmmm....hadnt thought about that..I'm in the process of looking for a bow right now too. Although I do have a muzzleloader, so that would count as HAM. And I welcome your daughter to go!! I think thats great she wants to be out huntin' with you!! Do you have to put her on the Application also??? This state is so confusing sometimes!! Anyway, I dont care where or how. Lets put it to a vote!!

Come on guys Rifle, or Ham??

H.A.M. !!!
I prefer unit 18B and have some leads from a rancher on 19. I met this guy recently and he told me about the alamo area also. He ranches that area and has killed a bull in that area and his son is a guide.
Just some thoughtsmile.gif

However, I'll go with the majority just to get this thing kicked off.

All you fisher woosies going to hunt little pigs? I would like to get in on this and suggest that 33 be given a good look. There are more pigs on the back side of Mt. Lemon than we could kill in a month.

If you decide to go with a HAM hunt, Glen and I would like to go along.
