I'm helping a friend learn reloading and
I'm looking for data on 75 grain v max loads for his .243 win.

I have three manuals but none from Hornady. I'm looking for a start load and max load using H380. I have load data in three manuals that have data for 75 grain bullets, but was wondering what Hornady recommends. I tried their website and found data for the v max but not for the 75 grain bullet.

Thanks

Red, My Hornaday book is out in the shop, but Hodgdons says that the starting load is 39.5 grains of H-380 and the max load is 43.0 grains. Hope that helps.

Thanks Danr55! I always like to take an average on the starting loads. I think the 39.5 is a good place to start. I almost never work to a max load, I like knowing where the ceiling is though!!!!!!

Thanks again.

Red I will throw a monkey wrench it there for you.

Lymans 47th
says 36gr to start 40gr max of H380

Speer#9
says 38gr to start 42gr max of H380
Both have similar velocities.

Hodgdon does not show a 75gr bullet.

Looking at a Hornady 5th edition at BPS the other day and noticed there load data starts and ends higher than all my mauals.

Hey Fatman, you have it right! No data for H380 in Hornady's 4th.
Be safe,have fun! deadeye2
