slow days for fishing

I dont know about the rest of the country but here in AZ fishing has really stunk. the last month has been hell. I fished a tourney up at a lake saturday with my kid. at 12:00 we had 3 smallies one was almost 3 pounds. accourding to everyone I talked to we where leading, as they had none to 1 fish and it was a dink. At weigh-in a few people brought in some toads 4+ lbers. we still had three fish our bite turned off at 12 everyone else's started at 2pm. go figure.

up until november we were catching in excess of 50 fish a day, in aug we caught over 100 in one night all about 2-6lbs. then november hit it went down to about 20 aday. then the cold fronts and winter hit Lucky to catch 3 a day. jan lucky to catch 1 a week( I go 3 times a week) feb very slow hoefully it will get better.

western kansas has clear lakes? how deep are they?
