Glad the one deer you shot with it worked out. I’ll let kids use it on pigs within 100 yards. Just haven’t been too impressed with the anemic velocity and unimpressive terminal ballistics.
BTW, the .350 Legend leaves a lot to be desired. 450 BM is a far better option. I wouldn’t allow 350’s on my ranch.
Winchester missed the mark with the 350L. So much so, they came out with a 400 Legend.
You can accurately shoot foster slugs through a rifled barrel. Better yet, but a rifled choke tube for better accuracy out of a smoothbore.
Rifled chokes were actually designed for rifled slugs.
I have 8 dedicated slug guns. All but one hates SST’s. Remington Accutips, Winchester Dream Season, and Barnes are solid performers.
I cast slugs these days using a variety of Russian molds. They are devastating on game.
I called Lightfield a couple of days ago to get the real story on why they stopped making slugs. I spoke with their R&D engineer, which just happened to be Randy Fritz, the owner of Tarhunt custom slug guns.
Long story short is, lightfield slugs were too good. Hunters would buy a case of slugs...
