Fair enough, he did say MT. I only mentioned because sometimes people don't know how close ID is (plus the bear tags are $45 and you can buy two). Two hrs west over Lolo pass puts you in the thick stuff, not the interstate by any stretch.
If you are interested in going 2 hrs west of Missoula I know a guide that can get you guys in under the $4k mark and hunts over baits and with hounds. PM me if you want more info.
In a tree or you are going to try to spot and stalk or call one in? Different gun for each. I used a 30-30 with good results this past winter hunting over hounds. If I were going to be trying to spot and stalk a cat I would likely take my 6.5 PRC just to be able to reach out a bit if needed.
No easements aren't bad, I was just saying that if the neighboring timber company continues to let people access/hunt for free their shareholders will have a good reason to demand they not do that and they also get paid.
Not sure how I feel about this, love seeing land protected but this feels like a slippery slope. Timber companies have, historically, let the public hunt and not gotten anything back from FWP. Why wouldn't they all reach out to get $20MM and a $14MM tax break. This precedent could change...
Just checked at 10:20 EDT and...I can't believe it...GREEN!!! And a day earlier than expected...
I mean, my yard, my yard has greened up, good luck to everyone tomorrow 🙃
I just did a hunter search, it returned results. Do you mean they stopped entering the draw data into that database first so we shouldn't expect to see results there first?
