So listened to this podcast today. Thanks to Randy and Marcus for keeping it going through COVID.
I laughed when Randy talked about doing payroll since he always talks about hiring folks for things he doesn't like around the house. When you're a CPA, I guess you do your own payroll!

I've had a D600 since 2012 or so and just haven't shot regularly the last few years so I haven't had the upgrade bug. I just looked at the Z5 and Z6 and I'm blown away with the features. Biggest drawback by far of D600 is limited focus points. I was way better off with my D300 in that regard...
Sad to watch. Fortunately, no serious injuries reported. Still burning. This link is from the U.S. Naval Institute but San Diego news stations are streaming a helicopter feed of the ship.

Everyone knows ammo is tough to find right now. I can't find bulk online or decent prices on boxes so I set out for good ole Core Lokts or similar at a good price to plink metal and punch paper. $25/box for Remington and Winchester basic ammo.
Stock was relatively bare and struck out on .22...
So a month ago I set out to find a good shooting rifle in 300 Win Mag under $500 understanding regardless the stock wouldn't be great. Did not go cheap on the glass or muzzle brake. Really impressed so far. This may just be a range rifle to mess around but having fun doing so.
Here's the...
*** This is an edit to my original post. I solved my own problem with the weaver mounts but still want to replace them to give more flexibility on eye relief. ***
Just got a Thompson Center Compass 300 Win Mag. Moved a Vortex Diamondback from my muzzleloader and Vortex Pro rings from my...
What title says. Not doing have work. Replace triggers and such. Immediate job will be replacing springs in a couple rifle triggers so I need a punch and prefer to get a good set.
Believe in buy once, cry once and trying to build my gun and archery tools.
I have a Remington 7400 30-06 semi-auto that I've had for 35 years. I hate the trigger and it's far from a one MOA rifle, probably closer to 2 MOA. But inside 200 yards it's plenty fine for MOA of deer and puts them on their butt. I just ordered a Thompson Center Compass 300 Win Mag knowing...
Looking at a variety of rifles from $400-800. I'm tracking the budget rifle thread among others so don't want to go that direction.
I may or may not hunt with this rifle in the future. 300 Win Mag so weight is ok. Want threaded and AB3 comes with brake but want a rifle heavy enough that I'm...
Just Ranting: I'm an AZ resident and just applied for points for sheep, bison, deer, turkey, and javelina for fall hunts. Work will preclude hunting this fall so points are relatively easy, right?
I build points in multiple states and I think AZ is the most painful.
- Completely check out and...
All, tried searches and googles but haven't found a comparison between Pro Series and Verdict. Will also throw in Mountain Lite as well.
Per title, which MBG sight would you recommend for hunting?
- not concerned with price difference between each.
- will go with microadjustable pins...
My range finder is no longer accurate and time for an upgrade. Looking at the Leupold in subject line. Any experience with bow mode? I downloaded the manual for basic operation. I occasionally shoot rifles on a range out to 1,000 but I'm primarily concerned about archery and inclines.
Just posted on Wall Street Journal. NRA and Ackerman Queen have differing views on the purchase. No matter who did what it doesn't look like it was in best interest of NRA members or the NRA mission.
I subscribe to WSJ so this may be a paid article that requires login...
This is a shot in the dark but maybe someone can break my tie. I've tried on Kenetrek Mountain Extremes multiple times and can't decide on a size. I measure 11 on right foot and 10.5 on left. Size 11 seems fine with a standard boot sock. If I go with a thicker wool sock 11 seems a little...
This is an offshoot from a comment on @devon deer 's thread on park runs and @dirtclod Az. 's reply on running not helping. Didn't want to hijack the original thread.
Not looking for an argument - just looking for opinions and successes on training at sea level for a backcountry elk hunt. I...
I have a Diamond Edge SB-1 with Apex Attitude 5 pin sight. The problem I have is I can't see the entire sight housing. All was fine as long as I was shooting at 20 and 30 yards only but when I sighted in all five pins, I can't maintain a consistent sight picture and see the 20 yard pin and 60...
I grew up hunting whitetail deer, squirrels and rabbits with an occasional duck hunt thrown in. Deer hunting was with dogs or still hunting. I never quite had the patience for still hunting deer and loved squirrel hunting because I would sit at first and last light but otherwise I was walking...
