    I think the tag increase had a lot to do with it. the antelope unit I put in for last year had roughly 500 apps in the NR reg and about 200 in the NR sp. this year it the percentage swung big time toward the regular tag. sadly my dad and I missed out by .5 points of drawing

    I’m a nonresident, love hunting Montana and am ALL FOR shortening the season. Who doesn’t like shooting a buck in the rut? I do, but I really enjoy having to actually “hunt” for an animal, walking in, glassing them up, having to stalk on or try to catch them to and from food.

    Kinda hard to expect us “shoot everything” NR people, that sent their money in a couple months ago for a $675 tag(with pp), not to come hunt regardless of the conditions. If FWP would give me a 100% refund I would definitely hold off , but they love our money too much.

    i did confirm and you can buy a pref point and have it go towards this years drawing. kind of different from most all the other states. 75% of tags are supposed to go to pp holders, 25% with out a point. lady told me 84% of pref points holders got a tag last year. bet that number is lower this...

    i read that somewhere on another post i thought. sure goes against what most all of the other states do. i got one after the draw last summer, so i can get another one now i suppose? sounds like an easy way for MGF to get another $50. if people can buy a point after the draw and then another...

    that's what i plan to do Monday. really id rather hunt alone, but having someone to split expenses is nice.
