JIM
I have family that live in Worland and frequent that unit. One works for BLM and is out there a lot. They discouraged me from the type 2 tag as the unit is more of a migratory hunt. They said Id be disappointed in the prospects compared to the November time frame. Not trying to discourage...
Yes placement for sure was the issue both times. you live and you learn. I setup in the dark both times in new areas. Expensive lesson to learn over and over.
I like the wire system that elk mountain has, hopefully that aids in sturdyness...
Any of you guys have any experience with these wall tents? looking to get a 13x20 for elk camp.
I had a couple of tents self destruct in the Wyoming wind last year so looking for something to with stand weather.
BuzzH, I have run across this with landowners block Forest Service roads. I haven't yet looked into the legality of this but I didn't think a landowner could block FR off like that.
Thanks. It's a really good look. I'd like a shoulder mount some day but this setup cost me about 50 bucks all said and done. Few hours and beers and it was all done
Thanks did the Euro myself this time. Cooler and a pressure washer with a little peroxide got it done.
It was actually a short hunt. 30 minutes after sitting down on the hillside watching the draw the bull and 8-10 cows came right up out of the bottom.
This was the first year I could hunt as a resident in Wyoming. I didn't get it done during archery season. I hunted hard for 6 days solo in unit 21. Came back to unit 13 with a rifle and was able to connect on a 224 yard shot.
I have a pair of Steiner Merlin's that are LNIB. I say like new because they have been on my truck seat one weekend this year since getting them. They are in very good condition.
