    700 Mountain Rifle

I have a 700 Mtn DBM 7-08 walnut/blue, definitely a sweetheart. Not a 'clip' guy at heart but I have not found a 7/08 to swap so I'll keep her til I do. Easy carry, great shooter, I have never had any issue with it but I am somewhat "sleeve-length challenged" so it doesn't feel "whippy" to me.

    Selling firearms: Gun Broker?

I have sold on GB and GA with good results but I prefer Armslist, F2F, less hassles, packing, driving 100 miles RT to the UPS depot for shipping, transfer fees and all the associated "stuff". When in doubt, use a local FFL. Should be a Wby fan somewhere nearby. Didn't see any other 300 WBy's...

    Powerbelt Bullets

I have used PBs on deer, hogs, sheep, pronghorns and even got some 50 cal 444 gr copper jacket flat nose that dropped a water buffalo with one shot. Had to call the factory for those. Not sure if they still make them. 100% weight retention. I'm a fan

    Vortex warranty

I put one of their 2 x 7 scopes on a 257 Roberts and in 20 shots the crosshair was laying in the bottom of the scope..... sent it back with a note and in 3 days I had a new scope. This one has been fine for 4 years. I didn't even BUY the scope, I won it in a raffle and told them so.... I was...

    WY NR hunters bend over...

Those LO tags will most likely increase (when game numbers permit) and are available for everyone. Good numbers already fail to sell out in some areas.

    Favorite meat

Some preferences might be influenced by effort and hunger. Dall sheep tenderloins are great but at the time I was so tired I would have relished my vibram boot soles with ketchup. I like moose ok but the three I shot were so old they had Medicare cards and grilled I had some minor misgivings...

    Finding A Hunting Partner

I'm kind of new here but as a semi-experienced senior I see a number of fellas looking to find someone to hunt with or at least make a "hunting connection". I know this is a "101" thing BUT...... You need to get away from your computer and into some of the find groups that are available for...

Charges filed wildlife scheme CO, UTAH

This type of activity is way beyond shameful. . Just what good would a "lifetime hunting ban" do in a case like this. Do you really think any sort of " ban" would stop them from more illegal killing? They are not hunters they are cold blooded criminals. Criminals don't buy guns in gun shops...

Wyoming Spoon and Crockpot trophy elk

Love the title of your post. Way to go! Nothing better than crockpot cooking with game meat. Haven't had elk in a while maybe I should think harder about one of those late season cow hunts but we love our pronghorn meat too... soooo many hunts, so little time......

    Chili

17 below zero today..... chilli sound like a great idea.... microwaves were invented to defrost venison when the need arises. Chili, sausage, tacos, spaghetti, pot roast made with the steak trimmings.... dang it's 9 AM and I'm hungry for dinner..... you guys are bad!!!! And soooo good..... :-)!!

    Flying with reloaded ammo

TSA is fine with flying guns and ammo if you follow their guidelines AND the airline agents have any clue about what they are doing. (That's the catch!). Always check in at the counter and have a copy of the your airline's regulations printed off their website. There are Federal regulations and...

    Is it unethical???

I think you knew the answer before you posted the question. I like guides and outfitters. There are places you NEED both. That said, I prefer to hunt on my own with family or close friends. I'll fish with most anyone but I get real picky about hunting partners. You learned some things you seem...

    New Pick up

I've had 150's 1500's and burbs.... never had a bad truck, guess I'm just lucky. Just gas tires and oil.....2012 F 150 is a V 8 gets 23 mpgs on the road. Novel ideas.... don't drive 80 mph hauling schtick..... when it gets over 75,000 go shopping.... let the next guy fix the probs...
