Yeah, I wasn’t sure about that when that was my suggestion. Bummer as that would be a cool complement to your 6.5 PRC, and very effective for how you plan to hunt with it.
Can’t even find .22 ammo here in NE WI. Cabelas had 8 boxes of 300 rounds a couple months ago. I bought 6 of them and don’t know why I didn’t buy them all because I haven’t seen .22 ammo since (other than a few boxes here and there of small qty performance ammo).

I had a Browning X-Bolt Hunter (matte blued barrel, wood stock) in 7mm-08 with Vortex Razor HD LH 1.5-8 scope. Perfect WI whitetail rifle.
I sold mine because I prefer a Rem 700 action/safety, so now I use a Rem 700 BDL - classic wood/blued barrel - in 30-06.
