I find it flawed too and don’t mean to detract from your OP, but while we’re on the subject, it was rolled paper cartridges for Springfields. It’s the lack of credibility today that gets me. Like those reenactors could still be alive so where’s the interview on the History channel? And those...
You all seen this? Filmed Fort McCoy, WI in 1990. They’re using real shells firing at an old APC downrange. Turn up your volume on the first half and you get a whole new perspective on old BP cannons.
In 1993 filming the movie “Gettysburg” extras were taking a break. An older man in a filthy uniform and reeking of sulfur came out of the woods and talked briefly. When he left them, the man handed out some rolled cartridges. The extras didn’t recognize the cartridges so they turned them over to...
First went about ‘98, so cool to a kid, also from NE Ohio. I went again in ‘06 and the park service had allowed logging once again as was historically accurate at the time. Little Round Top looked radically different. Rub Chamberlin’s nose for goodluck. I went all through VA, NC, GA, SC...
I interpret option “A” as
hunters who plaster up social media for profit, instigate fights with vegans/PETA, or perversely support hunting only because of 2A. I can’t hang with that.
Option “B” is a small group. Sounds lonely.
Option “C” is vague because what is that? Someone who only pays...
I’ll be interested to see your FPS here with this gizmo. Because that’s where you’ll get foot lbs at 165gr. I’m of the traditional camp here where we’re not looking past 100yds anyhow. Big heavy over 90gr BP, fa-WHoomp and minute of pie plate.
You know, I say fck those turkeys. Only turkey I ever bagged I hit with my car and I’m ok with that. You sir, sound like you’re at a fine time of life to build a kit muzzleloader. https://www.trackofthewolf.com/List/Category.aspx/588
Alright, what I’ve gathered here is that plenty of you had it or make it and it is good. I think I’ll do what John suggested and use freshwater whitefish like pike, walleye in a bottom crust potato pie.
You could take away all pins and shoot instinctively. That works well <30yd for me. Or have you tried MPBR pin? You could set a single pin at say 40yd and just aim accordingly if closer.
I’m a supporter of LGDs and can attest to their application in perimeter security. I own a LGD and she will take guardianship of the vulnerable wherever she is placed. Stock in a corral will have all visitors challenged. Kids she’s never met on a playground are protected. Patio at a microbrewery...
