This buck has been hanging around for a couple years finally got some good shots of him last night. Rumored he may not shed his velvet???? I have not seen him in the fall. Spends most of his time in the City limits near a little league/soft ball park. LIL

Pretty cool.

Bucks won't shed antlers or velvet if their hormones get messed up. Usually missing or injured nuts lead to the problem.

...could be squattin in the second pic.
I tore up all those fields in my youth. Played teeball through little league all over the valley-miss the sweet scent....

Cool looking cactus buck! My pard shot a cactus muley a few years ago in Idaho. It still had it's velvet late into October. Twig but no berries...

My inlaws have a few cactus bucks on their place. I keep thinking if I get the opportunity I might just poke one. Nothing as impressive as the OP though.
