So..... maybe this is stupid, but when I was looking at the size of the sheds that Breaksrunner found in the bear thread, it got me to thinking. He mentioned both beams were 57", which is ridiculous.

Anyway, it got me to wondering what a bull would score, if he litereally had EVERYTHING. Main beams.... tine length.... mass... spread... etc.

So what I propose is this. Let's compile the best numbers off of bulls that Hunttalker's have taken. Doesn't matter if it was with a bow, gun, muzzleloader or what. But to count it must have been a fair chase bull taken by a registered hunt talk member, no sheds or dead heads. Between Greenhorn, Breaksrunner, Fiver, MHMT, Hornseeker, and a pile of other big bull slayers we have a pretty impressive pool of bulls to pull from.

So take a look at your old score sheets and post up some of your most impressive measurements. If you shot a bull with an unusulally wide spread, or really long brow tines, post the measurement and a pic of the bull.

In the interest of simplicity, we won't differentiate between right antler or left antler. We will just take the largest measurment we can find and mirror it for right and left antlers. We are looking for gross inches here....

So what we need is:

Widest inside spread of the main beams-
Longest main beam-
Longest G-1
Longest- G-2
Longest- G-3
Longest- G-4
Longest G-5
Longest- G-6
Longest G-7
Best H-1
Best H-2
Best H-3
Best H-4

We can let this thread run for a week or so and then I will try and total up the biggest measurments. How big of a bull do you think we can make? 450"??? Biggger?

I'll get it started. I have been lucky enough to take two really good bulls in Montana with my bow. I will post below in red, the best measurements off of my bulls. I know there are guys on here with much bigger bulls then mine, so if you have a larger measurement than one I have listed. Post it with a pic of yoru bull.

Widest inside spread of the main beams- 45 4/8" 2008 Bull
Longest main beam-
Both my big bulls had longest main beams of 56 6/8"

Longest G-1 - 16 5/8" 1998 Bull
Longest- G-2 - 18 3/8" 1998 Bull
Longest- G-3- 15 6/8" 1998 Bull
Longest G-4 - 19 6/8" 1998 Bull
Longest- G-5 - 12 4/8" 2008 Bull
Longest G-6 - 6 2/8" 2008 Bull
Longest G-7 - N/A
Best H-1 - 9 4/8" 1998 Bull
Best H-2 - 7 6/8" 1998 Bull
Best H-3 - 8 2/8" 1998 Bull
Best H-4 - 5 5/8" 1998 Bull

With just my two bulls in the mix the total score is up to 400" on the nose.

Here are pics of my two big bulls

inside spread..

I Shot a bull that had a green score of 60 inches inside spread. This bull was unique because his tip to tip spread was officially used/scored as his inside spread because he tracked out evenly. His tips are his widest point. A typical bull will flare out around his g-3 and come back in.Hard to explain, but after the drying period, he had 58 inch inside spread. Will be interesting to see what Frankenbull scores...

I also think the long 5th on my 2007 WY bull was a pinch over 19...I dont know for sure though without looking at the official score sheet. I just pulled this bull out of the rafters this last week....if only it had a bit better bottom.

My buddy BRI that posts on here some shot this bull in MT a few years ago...slug of a bull.

I know it had a lot of mass and that third is about as good as they come...maybe he'll chime in with the official numbers:

Now we need some of those bulls with extra points. Where are the 7 and 8 point antlers. The G6 on my bull can be beaten for sure, and there has to be someone out there with a G-7 score....

Are we counting sheds?

The g1 on this shed is 19 4/8".

nmsheds1.jpg

My little 310" bull from last year ties those big 'ol 400"ers had a 17 4/8" left g1 as well.

Strong fronts in the genetic pool there!

Sorry no sheds for this game..... but wow what a brow!

I'm taking the liberty to post this picture of Sweetnectars bull from about 7 or so years ago. I'm sorry I don't know any of the measurements but maybe this will entice him to chime in with some numbers. Not a great scorer obviously but a freak for sure. I believe the left beam has 9 points. Four of which come off the third. He's got it out in the sun turning to chalk in his dads garden :( What a shame.
