Thumbs up Episode Five - Bugler steals the show!

Well, it looks like Episode Four was a great hit, given the web traffic this week. Oak made his debut and now will be providing signed photos for a small fee. I am not convinced that he "cleaned up" this operation.

Episode Five is archery antelope in New Mexico with me and IDBugler. It was a very difficult hunt in some respects. Unknown to us, a mobility impaired hunt had ended the day before our season started, so I think my spot and stalk plans were somewhat affected by them being shot at from vehicles for a week.

I will be interested to see what you guys think of Bugler's stalk on his buck. Everyone who has seen the rough cut thinks it is some sort of trick photography. The dude just has what it takes. I still watch it and shake my head.

Pretty excited that he and I drew our first choice this upcoming year. Last year was our third choice. Hoping this year is even better.

If you want to read the "As it happened" thread, here it is. Hunt Talk New Mexico Antelope thread

Here is a preview clip if you are interested. Episode 5 Teaser

Same days and times every week.

Friday at 10:30 pm

All times Mountain time and always on Outdoor Channel.

Man, Inspirational!

I don't know if I drool over the "hunt" or sitting back around the fire with the Wall tent in the background warming up... trying my darndest to make out the am radio station's play by play griz game. The nostalgia that teaser clip with the tent in the background - I simply shake my head - soon is all I can tell myself! Thanks!

The lope hunt looked darn exciting - and IDBugler, I gotta say, you are the stalkin man! Maybe some kuddo's goes to Montana Decoy for the big ole cow... however, your juevos - sure as heck don't shake to get that darn close to lope...
For myself, to get within 100yrds is a beautiful day! May you could have darn been a "jackalope" with those lope starring at you wondering, Ok, boys! Who the hell got a bit too darn horny and fudged our gene pool up! You got sooo darn close - and that is JUST the teaser clip! I look forward to watching the show!

Thanks guys! DVR is a beautiful thing! Can not wait to watch this episode!

Bugler is like some sort of superhuman. ManBearPig doesn't even rival him! He's part deer, part elk, part antelope, part whatever...all I know is that stalks like that are absolutely unreal...

You mean he's half deer, half elk, and half antelope, right?

You guys are too dang funny. I got very lucky and found an antelope that just didn't want to live any longer. It was that or that new doe in heat scent that fin is making.

If you go to the TV show page here on the site, it will tell you which episodes are coming when. They are all brand new episodes for this season.

Network won't let us play any from last year. Trying to get clearance to play last year on the site, but that is not as easy as I had originally planned. Last week's episode was a new one for this year.

Hey Fin,
Maybe what Dan is referring to is the the guide on the TV. I’m not sure if it is the OC or if it is Dish Network but the shows this season have descriptions from last season. My DVR is set to record only new episodes and it has missed some this year because of the 2009 descriptions. Again, not sure if this is an OC or Dish Network problem.

...nope, scroll down and click on the correct teaser box.

FWIW, the 'hook' OYO has for me is the people involved...real people, not characters. A bugler, oak or lawnboy are cognizant of but ain't playing to the camera...the story is the hunt, tactics, gear, terrain, and species. No lame attempts at macho comedy melded with over the top commercialism.

..looking fwd to this episode.

AZ402 wanted me to ask if Bugler flexes his muscles at all during the show?

Any scenes with the most muscular pose?

Now that is the truth. Oscar knows me to well....... I was asked to clean it up for tv.

Dink - I was beginning to wonder about Stan. Especially with some of the txts he sends me.

I agree I am so sick of watching actors and there "macho comedy" on the outdoor channel. This show is the real deal with people that show the sport and real hunters the respect hunting deserves.

Ha, that was pretty funny...........or was it?

Anyway, that was a great lope hunt, congrats again to Randy and Bryce on the archery goats.

P.S. Dink, I was really hoping for some muscle flexing by Oak in the previous episode, no such luck.
