Hi; Was wondering if anyone had some load data they would share for 300wsm using Sierra 165 gr Game Kings with any of these powders. Hybrid100v or varget.
I shoot 180 grain Sierra GameKings with 62.5 grains of H414 powder and CCI magnum primers. My cartridge length is pretty short at 2.895 inches max. This means that the bullet is well behind the lands in the rifle but that's the limit of the magazine in my gun. I get groups under an inch at 100 yards from the bench at the range. I also usually get one shot kills on elk and smaller game.
I have had velocity issues with my 300 WSM. I could not get anywhere close to the Nosler lister velocity. In the end...I found a very good load. I currently shoot a Barnes 175 LRX with 62.5 grns RE17 using Norma Brass. I found my 300 WSM likes a shorter OAL. I ended up at am at 2.83. I get right at 3040 fps and about 1/4 inch MOA. It was a long road to get there. I played with a lot of powders, a lot of bullets and a lot of lengths. Best of luck to you.
