Silencing the Thunder a new 26 minute documentary film shot by a MSU science film student, providing a little bit more of the picture down here. Those involved in the film that have been involved in this issue down here: Rick Wallen of YNP, Paul Cross with the USGS, Buffalo Field Campaign - Stephany Seay and Dan Brister, Pat Flowers who just retired from FWP, Region 3 Supervisor, Druska Kinkie a Paradise Valley rancher (who also headed the effort of the elk brucellosis Watershed working group and leases the FWP Dome Mountain WMA, purchased for winter wildlife habitat, which should be coming up for renewal soon), and a West Yellowstone resident.

This film covers more of the bison on Montana public lands and hunters to manage populations issue than the Dan Rather documentary did. Unfortunately, once again, no one is discussing any actual documentation of elk to cattle transmission, or lack thereof, to justify all this cost and action when referencing the elk, and thankfully, they didnt edit out Brister stating no documented case of wild bison to cattle transmission ever. Paul Cross mis stated that the GYA was the last reservoir of brucellosis. Texas routinely has infections over the years that are not related to wildlife.
