First elk hunt

I took a adopted grandson on his first elk hunt and he was able to get this 3 or 4 year old cow at about 275 yards with one shot from one of my 25 06s. He learned about dragging an elk in a sled and how truly big they are. His family does not hunt or fish and he loves the out doors. I took him on his first deer hunt 3 years ago and no he is totally hooked.

He was very surprised at how heavy the head was. He was great at helping me and drag his share on my little sled.
