Air Rifles

I'm thinking about picking up a target air rifle for shooting practice in my basement. My closest shooting range is 45 miles away so trigger time is hard to come by. Can anyone recommend an open sight air rifle for this application? I won't be hunting with it.

We picked up this one at the Durango Wallyworld on our way to elk camp. Fun and accurate..trigger's not too bad.

I've got one of the Silent Cats NHY linked to.. It will peg a golf ball every time from 25 yards. I occasionally use it for squirrels.

Reviving an older thread to see if anyone else has other recommendations on air rifles? Any other thoughts on the Gamo line-up? Probably not looking to spend more than $300 (not counting scope).

Primary use will be for small rodent / starling control around my property, as well as general plinking. Fairly certain I want to go the air rifle route vs. a rimfire.

I had a .22 cal. air rifle as a kid, wish I still had it. Any advantage these days to a .22 caliber vs. .177 given recent advances in air rifle technology?
