so lets say a road goes thru a piece of BLM are you allowed to park anywhere off the road and go hunting or does there have to be a designated area?

I've never had a problem pulling off to the side of the road and walk in. I wouldn't park in a bad spot or far from the road, but in the barrow pit, etc you should be fine.

Check the travel plan, but usually you can drive off road up to 100' or something. Depends on the plan/area. In Alaska you can drive off road 45 miles...

AND !!! in Montana
If the BLM or state land is in a BMA and can only be accessed bi way of the BMA It is governed by the rules of the BMA. So you will have to have the BMA map to see if you can park where ever  Plus you can only hunt what is listed on the Block management area map :hump: Can it get anymore confusing ?

Sounds pretty straight forward, just like a WY HMA. Look at the map, read the rules, go hunt.
