Olefish.

If you do find one, make sure to have it headspaced before you fire it. Good luck.

Dang, I looked all over and nobody had much in stock and they wanted your first born for prices. Good luck on your search because there aren't many stock Rem700 long magnum bolts available.

I agree you'll need to headspace it to make sure it will be ok. You'll need a set of "belted magnum" gauges. If I dig I know I have a set of go/no-go gauges that I could let you borrow.

Check classified adds on 24hrcampfire, and put out a "wanted" notice. Some guys buy mag actions and intend to swap them to a standard cartridge.

Heres one on Gunbroker, also check the rest of the auction sites...

Midway USA used to sell them as well. Not cheap though.

You could buy a new rifle and take the bolt and sell the rest as parts.

You might try contacting some custom makers, they might have some factory bolts around that were replaced with PTG or other custom bolts. Not much more I can add to what has already been offered.

Contact Christian Hofmeister, linked his website below. He's one of my old gun smithing professor that has his own shop. He may have a factory bolt laying around. Tell him Chris Summitt sent you.

I was able to talk to Chris today and what a nice person to talk to. We have a deal worked out and I will be sending him the barrel so he can do the work.

Thank you olefish
